City Attorney

Responsibilities

The City Attorney is an elected official. The City Attorney's Office prepares ordinances and resolutions coming before the City Council for consideration.  It also drafts, reviews and finalizes contracts, agreements, leases and other documents pertaining to city matters and represents the City before various administrative agencies and courts.

Prosecuting Attorney

The City Attorney is also the Prosecuting Attorney. He represents the City and protects the public health, safety, and welfare of its citizens by effectively prosecuting all misdemeanor crimes and violations which occur within the City of Cabot, including but not limited to DWI, domestic abuse, traffic violations, and hot check violations.

Does Not Represent Individuals

The City Attorney's Office does not represent individuals in legal matters and does not give  legal advice to citizens.  However, our office is always available to assist Cabot residents in contacting the proper department or agency regarding the issue.
