The City of Cabot Animal Shelter is pleased to be able to host a low cost spay/neuter clinic for dogs and cats every Tuesday and every other Thursday. This, paired with making sure all adoptable pets are sterilized upon adoption, helps to combat the animal overpopulation in our community.
All Lonoke county and northern Pulaski county residents are eligible to utilize this program for their personal animals.
Based on the popularity of this program and our focus of spaying/neutering "personally owned" dogs and cats, we must limit this service to individuals only.
Surgery cost including rabies vaccination (if needed) is $70 if under 100 pounds.
There is an additional fee of $100 for all dogs over 100 pounds.
LOW INCOME ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM
Thanks to the CARE for Animals rescue organization in Little Rock we are able to offer a "Low Income" spay/neuter certificate that lowers the cost of the surgery to $35 for any household that has a "Verifiable" income of less than $25,000 per year.
Acceptable items to document proof of income are:
Last year's W-2 statement
Income tax statement
Social Security statement
Disability reimbursement statement
pay check stub
In order to schedule an appointment the individual must go to the Cabot Animal Shelter in person to complete the surgery forms, verify income (if low income), and pay the appropriate fee. Once this is completed a surgery date will be scheduled (Typically within 2 weeks)
This is an extremely vital program to controlling the overpopulation of dogs and cats throughout our community. Donations are greatly appreciated to help fund this program.
